About Us

Adams Robinson was founded in 1983 by Michael Adams, President & CEO. The business was a natural extension of Mike’s lifelong interest in the environment.

“There is a tremendous amount of satisfaction in knowing that when we build a plant we contribute to keeping our country’s rivers, lakes and intercoastal waterways clean,” states Adams. “Our Company has a proven dedication to top-quality, on-schedule, under-budget construction projects that provide the Owners and their communities with the best product on the market.”

Mike Adams and his business partner, Fred Harris, who acted as Senior Vice President and General Superintendent, shared over ten decades of collective experience in the specialized construction of water and wastewater treatment plants. They started working together in 1971 when they both began their careers at Adrian Construction, based in Dayton, OH. Mike diligently worked his way up the project management and estimating side of the business and Fred quickly excelled in field operations. Both men shared the key concepts of understanding what it takes to succeed in this industry.

The opportunity arose in the early 1980’s for Mike and Fred to start their own General and Mechanical Contracting Company. Working their first year in a small 3-man office, Adams Robinson was off to a promising start. Senior retirees from Adrian Construction, including Rod Youngman, Bill Snider, Louie Evilsizor, Bill Russell and Bill Schulte, provided Mike and Fred with added support in the early years of Adams Robinson’s development. During the next ten (10) years, the business grew and added a home office and an equipment warehouse in Dayton, OH. In 1986 the company expanded geographically and opened an office in central Florida. Thirty five (35) years later, we operate in thirteen (13) states across the midwest and southeast United States.

One of the main strengths of Adams Robinson is its employees; many of which have met or are approaching their 30th anniversary with the company. Adams Robinson continues on its path of controlled growth while setting high standards in the water and wastewater industry.

“The quality and workmanship provided by your team including your subcontractors was outstanding.”
