Water and wastewater treatment plants are complex and technically advanced production facilities. Projects to refurbish, modify or expand existing facilities offer a unique challenge because the plants must remain in service to meet treatment requirements. We specialize in these projects and fully understand the inherent need to keep the plants operating while construction activities are ongoing. The knowledge and experience of our employees, coupled with the broad range of processes and procedures we have developed over the years, allows us to truly manage all aspects of the construction of complex and fast-paced projects, from inception to final completion.
In-House Engineering Expertise
Adams Robinson has the capability to construct any water or wastewater treatment plant to meet the specific operation and quality mandates required by the Owner or Engineer. We have a proven staff that has both the technical expertise and years of “mud on the boots” experience to handle any project. Our project teams and support staff include people with degrees in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management and Construction Technology. Their efforts are augmented by a solid core of experienced superintendents, foremen and estimators. In addition to the construction services, our project teams perform extensive value engineering and constructability reviews to provide the Owner with a high quality, cost effective plant completed in the least amount of time.
Design-Build and Construction Management at Risk Capabilities
Our expertise in water and wastewater treatment plant construction and in-house general, mechanical and electrical capabilities provides Owners with One-Stop Project Facilitation. As a Design-Builder, Adams Robinson provides Owners with Best-Value Projects that are within budget and on schedule. As a Construction Manager at Risk Facilitator, Adams Robinson can provide value engineering, accurate cost estimates and schedule expertise during the design completion that ensures that a project is completed to the Owner’s satisfaction. Whether the work is self-performed or subcontractors are used, Adams Robinson provides complete project management controls to maintain high quality, cost effective and timely completion of the projects.
Self-Perform Field Work
Site Work
Adams Robinson is fully capable of site clearing, mass excavation, demolition, foundation excavation, site and final grading. Our excavation experience includes excavations in excess of forty five (45) feet, excavations with extremely difficult groundwater conditions, excavations in rock and excavations in non-hazardous, contaminated conditions.
Concrete
Adams Robinson is fully capable to form and place concrete. We have experience with many different form systems and select the best system for each condition. This allows for better control of the construction costs, quality and schedule.
Mechanical
Adams Robinson is highly experienced and skilled in the mechanical work associated with the construction of water and wastewater treatment plants. This work includes many sizes and types of underground piping, process piping, gas lines and chemical feed systems.
Electrical
Adams Robinson has the ability to perform the electrical work on all of our projects. Electrical work is done on a selected basis for those projects where we are the general contractor. However, the work is usually subcontracted to a local electrical contractor. This capability allows us to work effectively with our electrical subcontractors.
Equipment Installation
Water and wastewater treatment plants use a broad array of equipment and instrumentation systems. Adams Robinson has the experienced personnel and expertise to install the equipment and instrumentation.
Company-Owned Heavy Equipment
Adams Robinson owns a significant amount of heavy construction equipment. This commitment allows us to have the necessary equipment readily available so the project can proceed without delay. It also allows the Owner to recognize a savings in our bid price because we have removed the need to rely on rental equipment. Our equipment is located at our Dayton, OH warehouse or at a project site. This equipment includes crawler cranes, rough terrain cranes, hydraulic excavators of varying sizes, dozers, end loaders, backhoes, Moxy dump trucks and compactors.
